About Ms. Candice Matamoros

Welcome to PreK3! What a blessing it is to be part of this incredible St. Patrick School family! I am thrilled that I have the privilege of educating your child this year. 

I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri and am the product of Catholic education, PreK- High School. I attended Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama, where I received my B.S. in Early Childhood Education. Upon graduation, I moved to Dallas, and have so enjoyed calling it home! For the past seven years I have taught within the Diocese of Dallas, and have been named Teacher of the Year and humbly awarded the Work of Heart Award. I earned my Masters in Catholic Educational Leadership in June of 2022 through St. Louis University. 

My hobbies including reading, writing, coloring, and spending time with my family (especially my sweet nephew and nieces). I believe that our faith is our foundation. I believe in inclusion and value Social-Emotional Learning. I believe that we are all His children and that our classroom is a family. I believe that learning is exciting and authentic connections and experiences are imperative to our learning success. 

This school year will be one filled with growth and such joy. We will explore new topics, learn about the world around us, foster our love of learning, and keep Christ at the center of all that we do. I so look forward to collaborating with each of you to make this a successful and faith-filled school year for you and your child.
