About Mrs. Mary Tobolka

Welcome, families!

I am looking forward to our new school year traveling on a journey with your child into the wonderful world of Art!

My wish and goal for all of my students is to develop an appreciation of art, and to believe that all children are artists.  Our art lessons and projects are centered around the Elements of Art and Principals of Design, synching these with the Curriculum of the Catholic Diocese of Dallas in the Fine Arts.  I love art history, and like to incorporate artists into our lessons whose influence in the field of art is especially important and pertinent alongside our projects throughout the year.

The students always amaze me with their creative and beautiful expressions in our Art classes.  Please encourage your child to not only experience art in the classroom, but also in the world around them.  Taking advantage of the wonderful art museums in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area can foster an appreciation and knowledge of art from around the world. Taking a virtual tour online of famous Art Museums is so much fun and broadens their appreciation of art and culture throughout history that the students might not otherwise have the opportunity to visit.

I attended 12 years of Catholic School education in Dallas. My college studies began at Texas Tech University, culminating with a Bachelor of Science from The University of North Texas. I began my teaching career as a teacher in the public school system in Texas.  My move to teach in the Diocese of Dallas has been so rewarding.  It is wonderful to be able to express and practice our Catholic faith in our day to day teaching at St. Patrick’s with our students.

Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my family. I am a lover of all forms of artistic expression, and enjoy watching sports, namely golf, tennis, and football.

In closing, teaching your children is a joy and an honor!
