Parent Connect

Below please find opportunities to connect with our school community. We warmly invite you to attend as many of these are you can.

Virtue Based Restorative Discipline: The virtue we are studying during the month of October is reverence, showing our deepest respect for God and the things of God.  Please click on this link for activities to do as a family which center around this virtue

Catholic Social Teaching: The Church’s social teaching is a treasure of wisdom about building a just society and living lives amid the challenges of modern society, These teachings come through a tradition of papal and episcopal documents and church council. During the month of October, we are focused on the theme of the Call to Family, Community, and Participation. From the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB):

The person is not only sacred but also social. How we organize our society – in economics and politics, in law and policy – directly affects human dignity and the capacity of individuals to grow in community. Marriage and family are the central social institutions that must be supported and strengthened, not undermined. We believe people have a right and duty to participate in society, seeking together the common good and well-being of all, especially the poor and vulnerable.

More information about Catholic Social Teachings can be found at www.wearesaltandlight.org

Please join our Family Rosary held every Tuesday in the Chapel from 3:00 pm -3:15 pm. What a great opportunity to pray for our children, families, and school community!

Beginning this Thursday, 13 October at 7:45 am, we will have the first meeting of our Book Study. We are looking at Glow Kids by Nicholas Kardaras. This book talks about how our childrens’ addiction to screen time is rewiring their brains and what we can do to help them. We will be looking at the Introduction through Chapter 4. All parents are invited to this important conversation, even if you have not had the opportunity to read the book. Mrs. Lucido and Mrs. Hendry will be facilitating the discussion. Our other two meetings on this book with be 10 November  and 8 December, both at 7:45 am.

Our Next Coffee and Conversation will be on 3 November beginning at 7:45 am in the auditorium. Our topic will be “What Do Assessments Tell Us about our Students?”

We hope that you plan to attend one or more of these ParentConnect activities.
