About Mrs. Megan Pacheco

Hello! My name is Megan Pacheco, and I’m the 4th Grade ELAR/Social Studies teacher here at St. Patrick. I’m originally from New York state, where I grew up in a very large Puerto Rican family. However, I’ve lived in the DFW area since I was a teenager, so I consider myself mainly Texan at this point. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas Tech University in 2011, where I obtained my Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education. Since then, I’ve worked as a teacher in Pre-K, Kindergarten, Third grade, and I even did a brief stint as a Learning Coach for a performing arts middle/high school in Austin! I hold an ESL certification, as well as Gifted and Talented training through Region 10 and a certificate from Texas Reading Academies.

I live with my husband, Brian, sweet shelter dog, Sable, and our three-legged cat, Koko! We LOVE cooking, trying new restaurants, playing instruments at home, karaoke, and spending time with friends and family. We just celebrated our one-year anniversary this past summer, and are going to visit Puerto Rico soon for a belated honeymoon!I love teaching because no two days are the same when it comes to kids. They make me laugh and smile, and I enjoy instilling a love of learning in them. It warms my heart to see them grow - not just academically, but as young, independent members of society.
