About Mrs. Cheri Crabtree

I am excited to begin my 28th year of teaching at St. Patrick. I was born in Oklahoma City and attended Catholic schools through 12th grade. Christ the King Catholic School in OKC has been my home for the last 27 years, twenty as a Kindergarten Teacher and seven as a Reading Specialist and Dyslexia Practitioner.I hold a B.S from the University of Oklahoma and a M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education from the University of Central Oklahoma.  My post graduate hours at UCO led to my certification as a Reading Specialist. I am also a WRS Dyslexia Practitioner and in training to become a Certified Academic Language Therapist. Reading is a passion and I love teaching students the “power of yet” while supporting their literacy journey.I feel honored to have been nominated for the National Catholic Education Association Distinguished Teacher Award. Equally special was being selected by my colleagues as a “Pay It Forward” teacher for providing professional development opportunities and serving as an informal reading coach to many. I have presented at NCEA in Boston as well as at the archdiocesan level.Family is important to me. My son, daughter-in-law, and grandson live in the DFW area. I look forward to spending more time with them as I continue my teaching career in Texas. I am a huge OU fan and enjoy reading, theatre, skiing, and paddle boarding. I look forward to meeting you.
