About Mrs. Minnich

Welcome to Kindergarten! My name is Denise Minnich and this will be my second year of teaching Kindergarten here at St. Patrick’s. I currently live in Plano with my husband, son and basset hound named Penny and two cats named Merlin and Bell. My home Parish is St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church where I taught special sacraments and Vacation Bible School. I have 3 grown children and 1 granddaughter, soon to be 2 years old, named Abigail Iris. I was born in Chicago and my husband and I went to elementary school together since the fourth grade. Owls are my favorite animal and we will use an owl theme throughout the year. I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and working in my garden.

Prior to joining St. Patrick, I taught second grade at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic School in Dallas for four years. One of the things that I enjoyed most about second grade was the spiritual formation of each student as they completed their sacrament of Reconciliation and Holy Communion.

I graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and I also hold an additional certification in teaching English as Second Language. Before becoming a teacher, I worked in the medical field as a Licensed Vocational Nurse, but decided to follow my dream and become an elementary school teacher. I have worked in the Kindergarten, first, second, and fourth grades and I absolutely love teaching. I am a lifelong learner. I want my students to love learning too! I am so blessed and excited every day to see my students smiling faces and their readiness to learn.

I am eager to get to know my new class and working with each and every one of you.
