Welcome to 8th Grade Religion!

During the year we explore our Church History, Morality, and our faith as we prepare for Confirmation.  It is a privilege for me to journey with the eighth graders during this year of sacramental preparation.  My hope is that each of my students will learn that they are beloved and will be challenged to bless others with their God-given gifts.
I grew up in El Paso, Texas before heading to the Midwest to attend the University of Notre Dame.  Upon graduating I joined the Alliance for Catholic Education, got my Masters in the Art of Teaching, and fell in love with teaching while at All Saints in Fort Worth.  I returned to Notre Dame to work at the Center for Social Concerns.  Since moving to Dallas, I have taught at St. Pius X and am starting my tenth year at St. Patrick. In addition to teaching Religion, I also serve as an Assistant Principal.
My husband and I have been blessed with three wonderful boys who are in 12th, 10th , and 7th grades.  I love to travel, dance, and spend time with family and friends.
In 2006, I received the Michael Pressley Award for Excellence in Catholic Education.  I have served on an accreditation team for the Texas Catholic Conference Education Department (TCCED). In 2015, I received the Diocesan Distinguished Teacher award for St. Patrick.
