About Mr. Petkovsek

This year I will be the Homeroom Teacher for 8C. I believe students are the most important people in the school and I am here to help all of them to grow academically, personally and spiritually.

I grew up in Little Falls, New York. I graduated from Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. I married my high school sweetheart in 1984 and moved to Texas to start an engineering career. I have a son that graduated from Oklahoma University with a Computer Science degree and a daughter who graduated from Texas A&M with a Sociology degree. My daughter got married in 2012. I was an Electrical Engineer for 26 years working mainly for Government contractors. I was employed by Electrospace Systems (bought by Raytheon), Ericsson, Austin Info Systems (bought by Textron), and Enfora. I left engineering in 2010 to pursue a teaching position.

I began working at St. Patrick Catholic School teaching 6-8 grade Science in 2011 and received my teaching certification through Region 10 in 2012. I also began taking classes for the diaconate program for the Diocese of Dallas in 2007. I was ordained a Deacon on February 9, 2013 and assigned to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Richardson. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and playing volleyball and basketball.
