About Mrs. Martin

Having attended Catholic schools in the Diocese of Dallas, I feel that it is a privilege to work here at Saint Patrick Catholic School. I joined the staff during the 2012-2013 school year as the Content Mastery Teacher. It is an honor for me to be a part of such a caring and nurturing faculty whose goal is to mold students into compassionate and responsible members of the community.

As a fifth-generation Texan, I have lived my entire life in and around Dallas. I graduated from Bishop Lynch High School and then Tarleton State University. I have a Texas Teacher Certification for Elementary Education, as well as in ESL.  I taught first grade for 9 years in the Garland Independent School District. I then became a stay at home mom with my two children, Meredith and David. After they were both in school full time, I began tutoring at-risk students at Kimball Elementary in Mesquite. My husband, Joe and I, live Lake Highlands with our kids and two cats. We have been members of Saint Patrick since 1996 and are active members of the school and church. We are currently serving on team for the ACTS Retreat Ministry and are past presidents of the Saint Patrick Catholic School PATS Club. When I am not teaching, I enjoy running, reading, spending time with family and friends, and when possible, traveling.

The Content Mastery Center is open for students in fifth through eighth grade that have been identified with mild to moderate learning differences. Here students may receive small group or one-on-one instruction in a setting that will help them to reach their academic growth.
