About Mrs. Emily Welch

Hi, my name is Emily Welch, and I am so happy to be joining the St. Patrick’s family as your school counselor. I have been in education for over 20 years, and I am proud to have grown up in Dallas area and educated within the Diocese of Dallas. I attended St. Paul the Apostle, St. Rita, and Bishop Lynch before moving to California to complete my high school education. I returned to Texas, and graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor’s degree in Human and Child Development and Family Studies. I began my career at St. Rita Catholic School in Dallas, where I earned my teaching certification and taught Kindergarten and 2nd grade. I have also worked as a private tutor, as well as tested students at Shelton in Dallas to gauge progress in various subject areas. Additionally, I spent a brief time at JPII High School as an assistant to the deans.

As my passion grew for helping students develop academically, socially, and emotionally, I returned to school and completed my Masters in School Counseling from Amberton University in 2019. I spent the last two years as the part-time counselor at All Saints Catholic School.

My husband Josh and I just celebrated our 18th anniversary in June. We have 4 children; whose ages range from 8-16 years old. They attend Prince of Peace Catholic School and JPII High School in Plano. We also have two dogs, Roxie and Ruby. In my spare time, I love watching our children play sports and spending time with family and friends. Thank you for welcoming me into your wonderful community.

I am thrilled to be a part off St. Patrick’s! I look forward to serving and supporting you and your children. Please do not hesitate to contact me.
