About Ms. Katie Kerian

My name is Kathryn (Katie) Kerian. I am excited to be beginning my sixth year of teaching at St. Patrick. This community, the school and the parish are like a second home. I grew up in the parish, and I am a proud SPS graduate. Go Panthers!

I earned my BA in elementary education and in special education from Benedictine College in Kansas. I have also received my Religious education certification from University of Dayton, Ohio. Currently, I’m working toward earning a master's degree in special education from the University of Kansas. I've been serving in the classroom setting for 12 years, all of which have been in the Catholic school system. Previous teaching experience includes teaching various ages, abilities, and subjects at the Notre Dame School of Dallas. I have also spent time serving in the youth and young adult ministry programs here at the parish.

When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with family, reading, traveling, and listening to good music. One of my favorite quotes is, "Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in attempt" (Special Olympics motto). With this in mind, I look forward to an exciting year of growth and learning!
